Public Notice of Intent to Apply for Federal Grant Funds

Burkeville ISD will apply for Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) Federal Grant for the

2022-2023 school year. Burkeville ISD plans to use these funds to support the intent and purpose of said grant.

Title I, Part A

 

The purpose of Title I of ESSA is to provide all children a significant opportunity to receive a fair, equitable, and high-quality education, and to close educational achievement gaps.

 

 

Approximately

$98,876.00

Planned usage of funds will be for payroll, professional and contracted services, parent and family engagement, homeless program, supplemental programs, and supplies.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Title II, Part A

The purpose of Title II of ESSA is to increase student achievement consistent with the challenging state academic stands, improve the quality and effectiveness of teacher, principals, and other school leaders; increase the number of effective teachers, principals, and other school leaders who are effective in improving student academic achievement in schools, and provide low-income and

minority students greater access to effective teachers, principals, and other school leaders

$12,919.00

 

 

 

 

Planned usage of funds will be for professional and contracted services, teacher stipends in Math and Reading, supplies, and other operating costs.

 

 

 

 

Title IV, Part A

The purpose of Title IV, Part A, is designed to improve the academic achievement of all students by increasing the capacity of LEAs, schools, and communities to (1) provide all students with access to a

well-rounded education, (2) improve school conditions for student learning, and (3) improve technology in order to

enhance academic outcomes and digital literacy of students.

$10,000.00

 

Planned usage of funds will be for activities to support safe and healthy students, improve school conditions for student learning, dual credit tuition available to all students, and core content activities.

 

 

Burkeville ISD will apply for Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century (Perkins V) and the Special Education Consolidated Federal Grants for the 2022-2023 school year. Burkeville ISD plans to use these funds to support the intent and purpose of said grant.

(IDEA B)

The purpose of IDEA-B Formula is to provide special education and related services to children with disabilities ages 3–21 to ensure that all students with disabilities have available a free, appropriate public education (FAPE) that includes special education and related services to meet their unique needs.

Ensure that the rights of students with disabilities and of their parents are protected. Assist states and localities in providing for the education of all students with disabilities. Assess and ensure the effectiveness of efforts to educate those students.

Planned usage of funds will be for the provision of Special Education, services implementation, instruction, instructional materials and equipment, program and student evaluation, and staff development through the fiscal agent, Sabine County Shared Services Agreement.

Preschool)

 

 

 

 

To supplement and increase services beyond the level of State and local funds expended for preschool students ages 3–5 with disabilities

Planned usage of funds will be for the provision of Special Education services, implementation, instruction, instructional materials and equipment, program and student evaluation, and staff development through the fiscal agent, Sabine County Shared Services Agreement.

Burkeville ISD will apply for the Small, Rural School Achievement Grant for the 2022-2023 school year. Burkeville ISD plans to use these funds to support the intent and purpose of said grant.

Small, Rural School Achievement

To provide rural local educational agencies (LEAs) with financial assistance to fund initiatives aimed at improving student academic achievement

Planned usage is to supplement current programs by purchasing research based, data driven educational programs to provide social, emotional, leadership, mental health, and instructional/academic growth needs for all students and any professional development or specialized training to utilize purchased programs with fidelity.

ESSER 2

The intent and purpose of the CRRSA Act of 2021, ESSER II funding is to prevent, prepare for, or respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, including its impact on the social, emotional, mental health, and academic needs of students. 

$327,163.00

Planned usage is to supplement programs for learning loss, summer school/tutorials, professional development, reading academies, chromebooks, as well as family engagement activities.

ESSER 3

The intent and purpose of the CRRSA Act of 2021, ESSER II funding is to prevent, prepare for, or respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, including its impact on the social, emotional, mental health, and academic needs of students. 

$734,999.00

Planned usage is to supplement programs for learning loss, retention incentive, counselor, paraprofessional, touchless water fountains, chromebooks, and HVAC system.
